Piercing Gets Practical: Pierced Glasses
The World of Technology blog has an interesting piece on Totally Absurd Inventions Ever Patented. Featured is the (totally real) “pierced glasses.” They write:
Anyone who wears glasses knows that the earpiece that holds your glasses to your head can be annoying and on a bad day, cause headaches. The earpieces have to be tight enough to hold your glasses on and loose enough to be comfortable. And, it can be tricky finding this happy medium. So our fearless inventor discovered a new way to hang eye glasses on your face, by using body piercing studs. That’s right… pierce your face, hang your glasses! Finally, piercing gets practical!
Sounds (and looks) pretty neat to us! What do you think? Would you ever wear pierced glasses?
Tattoos & Piercings in the Workplace
Good news for working stiffs with a penchant for body art. Little Rock-based KTHV’s article on Tattoos & Piercings in the Workplace finds that as piercings and tattoos become more and more socially acceptable, “many companies aren’t letting art get in the way of hiring the best qualified candidate.” It seems that scoring a killer job no longer necessarily requires hiding your tats or putting spacers in your piercings from 9-5. Indeed, “in a recent poll of three dozen fortune 500 U.S. Companies, it showed invariably they have softened their attitudes to body ink and studded skin.” Finally, open minds prevail in the workplace!
Does your employer require you to cover up your body art? Do you think having body art makes getting a job more difficult? Tell us in the comments!
